Test driving a new, sexually satisfying, state-of-the-art sleeve toy
At the risk of sounding like I’m losing my reviewer impartiality, long before I received Lovense’s new Solace automatic thrusting masturbator, I knew in all liklihood it’d probably be exceptionally made or possibly even meet their super high sextech standards.
What I didn’t expect was that the Solace would be, hands down, one of the finest, most pleasurable sleeve toys I’ve ever used. Plus its exceptionally thoughtful design and construction flawlessly interfaces with the Lovense Remote smartphone app, making it a joy to use
Power meets pleasure
Unboxing the Solace, I was impressed–and just a little intimidated–by its weight and size.
The Solace weighs in at a respectable 980 grams and measures shy of a foot long, slightly less than four inches tall, and a bit below that in width.
I quickly realized the Solace was a perfect blend of form and function—so much so that once I got it hooked up and running, the only thing I could think was how I never, ever wanted it to stop.

Unlike other sleeve masturbators, the Solace comes with an impressively constructed, vertically adjustable solid metal desk bracket perfect for all-night sexually immersive gaming sessions. I was surprised how easily I could fit it into my office setup or detach it with a few quick twirls of its connecting bolts.
The Solace’s girthy dimensions include its potent thrusting motor, capable of delivering a whopping 280 strokes a minute and to a maximum depth of two and three-quarter inches, and its ample battery with a mind-blowing capacity life of twelve and a half hours on a scant two-hour charge—a statistic I had to read and reread several times to make sure I wasn’t dreaming.

But the sextech thrills don’t stop there with the app’s flawless connectivity, for it’s also jam-packed with easy-to-use features: perfect control of the Solace’s speed and depth; making your own stroking patterns or sampling what others have created; setting it to react to ambient sounds, songs, non-adult or—if supported—explicit videos and interactive adult games; linking it to other, Bluetooth enabled Lovense toys; or having someone operate it from anywhere in the planet.
Better yet, the Remove app is blissfully clean. Sure, it has an App Gallery and a link to the Lovense store, but neither feels like a cash grab—unlike certain other apps that feel less like sextech brilliance and more like an in-your-face marketing ploy.
Big bang for your buck
Not a fan of the sleeve the Solace comes with? No worries, just head on over to the aforementioned Lovense Store and pick up one that might be more to your liking.
In all fairness, cleaning the Solace takes some effort, though once you get the hang of it, removing it from the unit can quickly become second nature thanks to its flip-open sleeve holder.
In addition to the unit and its mounting bracket, the Solace ships with a, thankfully, non-magnetic USB charging cable, a finely-crafted storage bag, and the pièce de résistance, an instruction manual that doesn’t require a magnifying glass—or a microscope—to read.
For those who want everything
Smart or otherwise, there’s a bajillion well-made sextoys out there for the penis-equipped, which can make choosing the right one more than somewhat tricky.
However, trust me when I say the Solace won’t let you down. In fact, like all the other penis-pleasuring products (try saying that three times fast) quite the opposite, it’ll keep you or your partner up and happy for a good, arousing, and very long time.
