Chelsea Nash is a freelance writer living in Ontario, Canada. She is the Digital engagement editor of Rabble.ca—an award-winning non-profit Canadian news site that features some of the best progressive voices in Canada. A seasoned communications specialist and researcher, Chelsea served as a Communications Writer for Community First: Impacts of Community Engagement (CFICE) in 2018 and as a Communication Specialist for Made in Africa Mobility Lab - a research project at Carleton University's School of Industrial Design in 2019. She has also contributed to numerous publications including Influence & Power Magazine. Chelsea earned a Master of Arts in Communication Studies from Carleton University' in 2019 wherein her thesis resided at the intersection of media and technology studies, women's studies, and sexuality studies. Her research focused on how FOSTA/SESTA legislation in the United States was impacting sex workers' access to online platforms around the world, with people in the sample residing in Canada, the U.S., and Australia. This research project gave her in-depth insight into the rapidly changing dynamics of the governance of sex work and the sex industry, but also a broader contextual understanding of sex work and the sex industry's history with obscenity laws, the relationship between the criminalization of sex work and the criminalization of women's bodies, and the importance of sex-positive communities, resources, and public education.
